Harvest Festival 2021

On Thursday 30th September 2021 children in Year 1 and Year 2 took part in a

Harvest Festival Assembly.

The Harvest display represented a range of food items that had been donated from all the year groups across the school.

The assembly prompted the children to think about the meaning of harvest and highlighted the different places food originates from in nature.

A video about a family run farm helped the children to see where some of our everyday food items like milk, eggs and flour come from and how they are produced on a farm.

The children joined in with ‘The Harvest Samba Song’, which highlighted that for Harvest Festival we should be thankful for the things that we have and the things that we are able to bring in. Harvest Samba Song

Hearing the story of the Little Red Hen the children reflected on the work that is involved in creating a loaf of bread.

Two children even had a go at creating some flour by grinding grains of wheat.

Sharing is such an important part of Harvest Festival and Hamstel Infant School and Nursery will be sharing our food donations with two local charities.

Thanking you all for your support.

Wishing you a Happy Harvest Festival 2021
