The School Day

The school day starts at 8:50 a.m. and finishes at 3.10pm.

Registration is from 8:40 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Assemblies

Each Year group has an assembly each week to celebrate positive learning values and another to sing collectively. At both of these there is an opportunity for collective reflection on a moral, spiritual or related subject. On occasion visitors from different religious faiths and denominations come and share assemblies with the children. We use these assemblies as an opportunity to explore religious festivals from a wide range of religions, moral choices, British Values and ways in which we can inspire our children to reach their full potential.
On days when there is no year group or whole school assembly each class allocates time to discuss and reflect on a relevant issue.

Lunch

There is an hour for lunch:
11:45 to 12:45 in Year 2
12:00 to 1:00 in Year 1
12:25 to 1:25 in Reception.

Drop off and collection

Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or carer and enter the school via their external class door. Children should be collected from their door at the end of the day unless they are attending an after school club. If for any reason you are unavoidably detained, please inform us and your child will be asked to wait at the school office.

Arrivals after 9:00am must go to the main reception where you will be asked to complete a form giving the reason for late arrival. Regular late arrival or collection will result in a meeting to agree an action plan to support improvement.

The Daily Mile

Each day the children take part in The Daily Mile, this is a national event  where in the children run or jog – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but should aim to run or jog for the full 15 minutes.

Getting to school

To get to and from school, we would recommend walking. It’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. We have bike/ scooter racks within the school gates which can be used by all year groups. Scooters and bikes should all be used with parent supervision but NOT on the school grounds.

If you do need to travel by car, please park away from junctions and avoid blocking neighbours drives. Please drive slowly and with care as the area is very busy with pedestrians at start and end of school. The visitor car park is NOT a drop off area for parents/ carers simply bringing their child to school or collecting them so please do not use it in this way.
