Hamstel Hustles & Dodges in KS1 Dodgeball Debut

Celebrations flow as Team Hamstel emerged triumphant in their first appearance at the KS1 Dodgeball Tournament. The team's journey was nothing short of remarkable, showcasing their determination, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

In the group stage, Team Hamstel asserted their dominance with a clean sweep. They began their campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory againsts Darlinghurst, followed by a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bournes Green. The momentum continued as they secured another resounding 3-0 win against Eastwood, topping their group and advancing to the highly anticipated Super 8 round. The team's play in the group was brilliant, with Kevin and Didi's rocket throws being complimented by the other schools.

Facing tougher competition in the Super 8, Team Hamstel demonstrated their resilience. Theu started with a nail-biting 2-1 victory over Eastwood, displaying their ability to riseto the occasjion. However, they face a setback with a narrow 2-1 loss against West Leigh. Undeterred, Team Hamstel bounced back with a 2-1 triumph over Our Lady of Lourdes. Precision throwing from Hnery, Hanna, and Chase saw the team over the line. This meant the team had qualified for the semi-finals.

The semi-final clash against Darlinghurst proved to be a fiercely contested battle, with team Hamstel narrowly losing 2-1. Ritchi and Harper's great dodging, and Lola and Indy's throws just weren't quite enough to secure the win. Undoubtedly disappointed but not disheartened, they regrouped for the 3rd/4th place play-off. Despite a valiant effort, Team Hamstel face a 2-0 defeat, ultimately finishing in 4th place in the entire Southend City.

This remarkable achievment marks a historic milestone for Team Hamstel, the first-ever Dodgeball team from the school. The players showcased not only their athletic prowess but also fantastic teamwork. Mr Sayer and Mrs Walker were porud of the team's accomplishments and the experience gained from this tourament.
