This year has been amazing at our school! We have had so many fun and exciting things happen that have made every day special. We have enjoyed lots of thrilling events, visitors and activities throughout the year. There have been special celebrations, workshops, performances and many chances to learn new things and we have loved taking part in all of these experiences and making great memories with our friends. As members of the Media Team, we have had the important job of finding out what has been happening around the school. We have interviewed teachers and other members of staff to learn more about their jobs and what they enjoy about working at our school. We have also interviewed children from Year 1 and 2 to hear about their favourite events and achievements. This is what everyone said:
Savannah: How are you feeling about next year and why?
Miss Goodman: WOW! What a year this year has been! For that reason, I’m feeling a bit excited and nervous about next year. But everyone feels like that a little bit, don’t they? It’s always exciting to go on a new adventure though, isn’t it?
Beau: Are you excited for the summer and why?
Jack: I’m excited for summer because I am going to Kidz Camp.
Thomas: What has your favourite part of the year been and why?
Mr Roche: My favourite part is always seeing how much progress the children make. And of course, seeing them grow up a lot on their school journey. So, I guess, my favourite part of the year is summer because we can really see the change from the beginning of the year to the end.
Joey: What did you think of the end of year show and why?
Thomas: It was funny because I played the crocodile in the show and everyone was laughing.
Dylan: How are you feeling about next year and why?
Georgi: I am feeling nervous because we are going to a new school but I am also happy.
Dolleigh-Bow: Have you enjoyed year 2 and why?
Thomas: Yes, it has been fun and I enjoyed the show.
Chanju: What has been your favourite part of the year and why?
Lorenzo: My favourite part of the year has been swimming because I love swimming and Miss Iruskieta called me The Great Shark of Hamstel!
Evelyn: How are you feeling about going to the juniors and why?
Wrenly: I feel a little excited and a little scared. Both really. But it’s going to be ok. We will have fun there too because we are still with our friends!
Leo: How are you feeling about the end of this year and why?
Mr Roche: I’m feeling happy but sad, Leo. It’s always wonderful to see how much progress all the children make across the school but it’s also time to say goodbye to our brilliant Year 2’s. We’re sad to see you lot go but excited for you too because we look forward to hearing what you get up to as you go to the Juniors.
It has been a fantastic year full of fun, learning and excitement. We are proud to be part of the Media Team and we can't wait to see what exciting opportunities next year will bring!
From Miss Iruskieta: What another phenomenal year the Media Team have had! With 2 captains, things have run very smoothly and watching these children grown in confidence has been nothing short of amazing. As our year 2 journalists continue on to their journey to the juniors, I wish them the best of luck and it has been wonderful having you on the Media Team. Big shout out to: Leo, Joey, Evelyn, Dolleigh-Bow, Dylan & Chanju! 😊 To the current Year 1’s: Let’s see what next year brings for us!
