MEDIA TEAM REPORT - Operation Lifecycle
Welcome to our biggest project yet!
Quick message from Miss Iruskieta:
The Media Team were handed their first huge project to take on this term. This included a minimum of 2 meetings a week, developing their photography skills, interview skills and even typing skills this time as they have now finally used our new computing suite. It has been amazing watching them pour their heart and soul into this project, ranging from thinking of a project name through to thinking of what exactly they wanted to put into this segment and editing to create the final outcome. I hope you are as impressed as I am with their determination and dedication to making this project as phenomenal as it is.
Media Team
We don’t know if you have heard, but we have had some adorable guests at the school. On Tuesday last week, we suddenly had some eggs appear at school. Anyway, our teachers told us that we were going to learn about the lifecycle of a chick and we were so excited. One day later, the first chick hatched and we saw how the rest of them started hatching one by one. It was so cool. Over the last two weeks, we have watched them grow into cute little fluffy chicks and we held them and named them. We thought of some really good names and we even made them chick profiles so that we know who is who when we visit them. How great is that! Here is a fun fact that we have learnt: did you know that boy chicks are fluffy and yellow and the girl chicks are golden and brown with some patterns. Over the two weeks, we have watched them change and everyone has been so happy.
We decided to interview some teachers and some of our friends and this is what everyone said:
Luna: Who was your favourite chick and why?
Mrs Tracy: I liked Nina because she is really soft and fluffy.
Luna: Who was your favourite chick?
Alby: My favourite chick was Geraldine because she is cute and she is funny because she poos everywhere including on Miss Iruskieta.
Alfie: What did you think of the chicks?
Lenny Grace: I have really enjoyed having the chicks in school. We see them every day on chick cam.
Miss Iruskieta: Savannah, what did you think of the chicks?
Savannah: We are learning about chicks and the dark chicks are girls. They are so fluffy and I like the girls because they are the fluffiest ones.
Dollie: What did you think of the chicks?
Sophia: The chicks are really cute and we have been learning about them in class.
Joseph: The boys are my favourite because Jim John is so cheeky.
Elsi: Who was your favourite chick?
Leo: My favourite chick is Jim John because he is a cheeky monkey and he tries to fly off.
Maya: Did you take the chicks home?
Mr Roche: I did take the chicks home and my children loved it because we had to look after them. We cleaned them out and we gave them a bath because sometimes they have poo on them. Hehe.
Harry: Who was your favourite chick?
Mr Roche: The girls are a different colour and they have stripes and patterns so I like that. Like Miss Iruskieta, my favourite chick is Geraldine because she loves a cuddle.
Overall, this project has been so fun to do and we can’t wait to see what our next project is. Stay tuned…
