KS1 Cross Country Competition
On Wednesday 5th October, we took 12 Year 1 and 12 Year 2 children to Garon Park to take part in the KS1 Cross country competition.
It was a sunny but very blustery day which led to quite tricky running conditions on parts of the run. There were 21 schools in total competing, which meant there were approximately 126 children in each race (some schools didn't enter every category). There were a lot more children on the start line than we were used too!
All our children tried their utmost, getting the best start they could, jogging at a steady face pace and overtaking as many other competitors as they could. Most importantly, at the end of the 900m, they saved some breath to head into a strong headwind with a tremendous finishing sprint.
We are very proud to report that we were placed 2nd overall.
We are extremely proud of all the children and would like to commend them all for their efforts and determination.
Thank you to Mrs. Barry and Miss Lewin who came along to help and for their fabulous encouraging cheers and words of support.
