Hamstel Infants and theWoodland Trust
The UK needs millions more trees to reach its 2050 carbon net-zero target, to achieve this the Woodland Trust wants to make sure everybody in the UK has the chance to plant a tree. To do this they have been giving away thousands of trees to schools and communities.
Hamstel Infants have been sent a pack of saplings to look after. Each year group will take it in turns to look after the saplings as part of their Outdoor Learning, as they start to develop into the Spring Term.
As well as benefiting our school, our free trees will count towards two incredible nationwide tree-planting projects.
The Queen’s Green Canopy which will mark The Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II.
The Big Climate Fightback to get the UK planting 50 million trees to help the
climate crisis.
All the saplings have been potted up and we currently looking after them in our greenhouse. We are excited about making use of them as part of this national landmark Royal celebration.
Together, we'll help to get millions more trees in the ground!
