This week, we were delighted to welcome gymnast Courtney Orange to Hamstel Infant School for an exciting and inspiring visit. Courtney got all of our children moving during a fun-filled fitness circuit, where they enjoyed taking part in activities including star jumps, running on the spot and shoulder-tap planks. Following the fitness session, we came together for a whole-school assembly. Courtney shared his inspiring journey into gymnastics, spoke about his experiences competing at the Commonwealth Games, and reflected on the injury that sadly brought his Olympic dream to an end. His story encouraged our children to believe in themselves, persevere when faced with challenges, and have the confidence to try new things. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching videos of Courtney in action and were amazed to see some of his incredible gymnastics skills performed live in the hall. From cartwheels and handstands to energetic dance moves, Courtney wowed everyone and left us all feeling inspired and motivated. We would like to thank Courtney for spending the day with us and for sharing such an uplifting and memorable experience with our school community.
