What a fantastic day Team Hamstel had at the Key Stage 1 Quad Kids event! Competing against 17 other schools, the team showed amazing determination, teamwork, and energy from start to finish, eventually securing an incredible 2nd place overall, missing out on first place to West Leigh by just 2 points!

The day started with the 50m sprint, beginning with the boys’ races. Team Hamstel flew down the track with Romeo leading the way as the fastest Hamstel finisher, followed closely by Archie, Luke, and Dylan. The boys got the team off to a strong start with some lightning-fast sprinting performances.

The girls were just as impressive. Hannah-Lee crossed the line first for Hamstel, followed by Hermione, while twins Gracie and Ruby could not be separated as they finished with exactly the same time! Their speed and determination gave Hamstel a huge boost early in the competition.

Next came the Standing Long Jump, where the team continued to impress. Archie once again led the boys with the strongest jump, followed by Luke, Dylan, and Romeo. In the girls’ competition, Hannah-Lee and Hermione led the way with the strongest jumps, with Gracie and Ruby both producing excellent efforts as well.

Then came the Howler Throw, where Team Hamstel really showed their power. Archie produced a massive throw of over 30 metres, one of the standout performances of the day! Romeo, Dylan, and Luke also threw exceptionally well for the boys. For the girls, Gracie led the way with a superb throw, followed by Hannah-Lee, Hermione, and Ruby.

After lunch came the final and toughest event of the day, the 300m race, and it certainly provided plenty of excitement!

Archie delivered an outstanding performance in the elite race, finishing in a remarkable 2nd place with a superb time of 1:03. Romeo produced a strong and determined run to win his own heat in 1:02, while Luke ran 1:07, and Dylan finished strongly in 1:12.

The girls absolutely dominated their race. Hannah-Lee stormed home in 1:04, followed by Hermione in 1:08, Ruby in 1:09, and Gracie in 1:10. Amazingly, the girls finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in their heat, a superb achievement that had the Hamstel supporters cheering loudly from the sidelines!

There was even more success in the individual standings:

  • Archie H was crowned Top Boy overall, an outstanding achievement across all four events.

  • Hannah-Lee H finished an impressive 3rd overall girl in the competition.
