Year 2 have RNLI assembly
The year 2 children had a special assembly on Friday delivered by some of the RNLI volunteers from Southend’s RNLI centre. The children found out what the RNLI do and how they help and save people in different ways using their lifeboats and equipment. The children learnt that the RNLI help rescue people at sea, help people when some areas are affected by flooding and help protect some beaches around the country with trained lifeguards.
The children were shown the different flags to look out for at the beach.

They learnt the following steps: The children enjoyed listening to our visitors and I hope they will remember the steps to take if they ever find themselves in a difficult situation on the beach.
