At Hamstel Infant School and Nursery, we provide a Design and Technology curriculum that immerses pupils in learning that is memorable, engaging and meaningful.  Children are taught to be forward thinkers and risk takers, by gaining exciting key knowledge and skills, which prepares them for everyday problem solving. These valuable critical-thinking skills are embedded across the curriculum via open-questioning, explicitly taught vocabulary, and practical hands-on experiences. Through our DT curriculum we provide children with a growing understanding of how and why products are made, and how these are modified and improved. Through the designing, making and evaluating processes, children can draw upon individual experiences and interests and apply them in, and beyond, school, to help them think in an original or creative way.
