30 hours of free childcare per week

From September 2017, eligible working families may be able to claim 30 hours of free childcare per week for children aged 3 and 4.  These 30 hours will be available during our Core Sessions of 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday during term time (38 weeks per year).

You will be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare per week if you earn more than the equivalent of 16 hours at the national living wage or minimum wage per week: (currently £ 125.28 per week—Jan’ 19 if you are 25 or older). There is no requirement to work a certain amount of hours per week; it is all about how much you earn. If you live with a spouse or partner you must both meet this income criteria; this still applies if one of you is not the child’s parent. Single parents are eligible if you meet this income criteria. You do not qualify for 30 hours free childcare if either you, or your partner, expect to earn £100,000 per annum or more.

To see if you could be eligible please use the Government's Childcare Calculator.
