Singing in the community

In the last week of term many of our Singing Club children went Carol Singing at two of our local Care Homes. On Monday we went to Boulevard Lodge and on Tuesday we went to Whittingham House. The children sang with great enthusiasm and were impeccably behaved. They were thanked by both the staff and residents at both venues who I know thoroughly enjoyed their performances. They also sang at our Christmas ‘Thank You’ assembly. We are VERY proud of them all! A very big thank you to Mrs Holohan for organising these events to bring the true meaning of Christmas to local residents. Children of the Choir singing at Whittingham House

Year 2 Christingle service

On Friday 14th December Year 2 made all the Year 2 teachers very proud as they took part in a lovely Christingle service at Bellevue Baptist Church in Southchurch. Rev. Andy Goodliff led the service sharing the meaning of the Christingle. Whilst singing ‘Silent Night’ some children stood at the front holding their lit Christingle. During the service the children sang some traditional carols beautifully and finished with singing ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas’. A big thank you to Rev. Goodliff for welcoming our Year 2 children and parents to your Church.

Year 2 visit the Hamstel Victorian museum

Over the past couple of weeks, Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed spending some time in the ‘Hamstel Victorian Museum’, kindly put together by Mrs Clark. Each class had an opportunity to visit the museum and look at a wide variety of artefacts that belong to Mrs Clark’s ancestors. All the Year 2 children found it very interesting and some artefacts puzzled us as to what they could be when we first started to explore. So it was a great opportunity to ask lots of questions and put our ‘thinking hats’ on and ponder over what some of the unusual objects were used for during the Victorian times. We discovered the object in the photo to the right is used to put into a top hat to help put it back into

Reception Christmas Nativity

This year the Reception children presented their Nativity called ‘It’s a Baby!’ The children did an amazing job of performing in front of some very large audiences consisting of all their friends and family as well as the rest of the school. The children have worked extremely hard, learning new songs and actions, dances, lots of lines and moving on and off the stage. All the staff were extremely proud of their performance. The children looked and sounded amazing! Thank you to all those that came to watch us and those that helped us prepare for the day. We would like to give a special thank you to Mrs Holohan for leading and directing the Nativity. Well done Reception!

Reverend Goodliff Assembly

Reverend Goodliff from Belle Vue Baptist Church joined us today to share the Christian Nativity story and the celebration of the birth of Jesus. He shared the enjoyment the shepherds had when sharing the news that God’s son was born. The children enjoyed sharing their experiences of welcoming a new baby into their families and friendship circles.
