Nursery

You can register your interest for your child to join our Nursery in January 2022. Please contact the school office or complete the registration form linked above.

Children are eligible for admission to Hamstel Nursery from the term after their 3rd birthday, without reference to ability or aptitude. Since September 2018 Hamstel Nursery has offered the new 30 hour funded places and a limited number of 15 hour funded places.

Hamstel Nursery has a three term intake policy for Nursery admissions, depending on demand for places in September:

  • September 2021 intake for children born between 1st September 2017 and August 31st  2018

  • January 2022 intake for children born between 1st September 2018 and 31st  December 2018

  • April 2022 intake for children born between 1st January 2019 and 31st  March 2019

Parents may ask at any time for their child’s name to be put on our waiting list by completing a Nursery Registration Form

Once our application process is open for our intake September 2021 you should apply for a place in Hamstel Nursery by completing and returning all documents within the Application Pack to our school office.  Applications will only be accepted with a fully completed application pack along with the child’s original birth certificate.

When there are more applications than places, all applications received by the deadline will be considered using the oversubscription criteria only, please see Nursery Admission Policy.  The date of the application will not be taken into account when allocating places.

A 15 hour child will be considered for a morning or an afternoon place, it is not currently possible to offer a mix of morning and afternoons.  The decision whether to offer a morning or afternoon place lies with the Headteacher.

All information given by the parent/carer will be regarded as confidential but will be made available to those considering the application.

Schools admissions: applications for overseas children

In most cases, children arriving from overseas have the right to attend schools in England.

It is the responsibility of parents to check that their children have a right, under their visa entry conditions, to study at a school.  To help parents we recommend that those wishing to apply for a state funded school place at Hamstel Infant School & Nursery check that they have a right of abode or the conditions of their visas otherwise permit access to a state-funded school.

Foreign nationals cannot use the 6 month visitor visa or a 6 month short-term study visa to enter the UK to enrol as a pupil at a school. Find out what these visas can be used for on the UK Government website visitor visa and short term study visa pages.

More information can be found by following the link to the Department for Education.
